About

Building for the web, for real.

John Nutter

I'm John Nutter, a senior software engineer based in Decatur, GA. I've spent the last 5+ years working across the full stack — most recently at Mailchimp doing web performance engineering, component systems, and A/B experimentation at scale. I work primarily in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, and React, with AI tooling baked into how I work now, not bolted on. I care about being in the work — building things, solving real problems, and understanding the whole system. I self-host my own projects, manage my own infrastructure, and tend to have something in progress at any given time.

I care about being in the work — building things, solving real problems, and understanding the whole system. I self-host my own projects, manage my own infrastructure, and tend to have something in progress at any given time. Outside of code I produce electronic music under a couple different projects, run a handful of creative sites, and have a deep appreciation for cyberpunk aesthetics, dark speculative fiction, and tabletop RPGs. The same interests that pull me toward those worlds tend to show up in how I design and build things.
